Afghan-Pakistan Talks On Coal Trade Next Week

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A Pakistan delegation led is will arrive in Afghanistan on next week for talks on coal imports, a media report said on Thursday.

Commerce Secretary Sualeh Ahmad Faruqui would head the team, which would meet Afghan officials on July 17 and 18, Business Recorder reported.

At a recent meeting, the Border Management Committee (BMC), chaired by Defence Minister Khwaja Asif, decided that a working level delegation would be dispatched to Afghanistan for discussions on coal trade across the Durand Line.

According to the report, 24/7 operations at Torkham, Kharlachi and Ghulam Khan terminals will be discussed by the two sides.

Improved infrastructure on the Afghan side of the Durand Line and the movement of vehicles are also on the agenda.
