Moecc Probing Fish Death At Al Wakra
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has provided an urgent response to a report received from a Qatari man regarding the dying out of fish at Al Wakra Area. Accordingly, a specialised team from the Monitoring Department and the Marine Protection Department in coordination with all the departments concerned carried out a field visit to the designated site and took samples of the dead fish and the water for laboratory tests.
The Ministry stressed that it would follow up the issue closely to identify the reasons for this phenomenon and accordingly brief the public on the outcomes of the tests. However, such fish death is considered normal in Qatar and different places across the world during the hot summer due to the high levels of water temperature, the Ministry noted yesterday (Friday).
