Texas : 16 killed in school shooting
(MENAFN) According to state officials, at least 19 pupils and two adults, including a teacher, were attacked and murdered on Tuesday, May 24th, at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. Before the school shooting, the suspect, an 18-year-old man, allegedly shot his own grandmother.
Sgt. Erick Estrada of the Department of Public Safety announced the deaths to CNN on Tuesday evening, hours after domestic hospitals revealed an influx of children with bullet wounds.
Governor Greg Abbott addressed the massacre later in the day, naming the shooter as Salvador Ramos, whom he described as "killing terribly and incomprehensibly."
