US Supports No Armed Resistance In Afghanistan

According to the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, the US does not support any armed resistance in Afghanistan.

During a visit to Kazakhstan, a US official told Radio Azadi that they asked the Taliban to respect the right of women and girls to work and educate, as well as to continue to establish an inclusive government.

He stated that Washington never supports military and armed resistance in Afghanistan.

However, he claims that the US has relations with Taliban government officials, but that this is not a prelude to recognizing them.

Donald Lu, the United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, said:

There have been multiple fronts in Afghanistan opposing the Taliban administration so far, but none have received formal foreign support, and no country has spoken anything about cooperating with them.

“Everyone wants to make sure that the money is spent by the Afghan people to meet their needs, not for corruption or the military project,” he added regarding Afghanistan's frozen assets in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

Following the Taliban's regain of power in mid-August last year, the United States froze the central bank's $9.5 billion, and no country has recognized the Taliban's administration.
