Finland to not get natural gas from Russia


(MENAFN) Due to the absence of payment, Russia has halted natural gas supplies to Finland's Gasum, according to Gazprom.

Based on a written declaration from the company, Finland began making ruble payments for natural gas supplies starting in April, and supply to Gasum and Finland were totally halted on Saturday due to nonpayment.

The previous year, Gazprom provided 70 percent of Finland's natural gas usage as well as the Finnish company stated on Friday that the gas supply is going to be cut off on Saturday, but that it is prepared for the circumstance.

Last week, RAO, another Russian energy company, halted selling power to Finland for the same reason.
