Iraq Condemns Iran's Shelling Of Irbil
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, May 11 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday denounced Iran's shelling of Sidekan area in Irbil Governorate near the Iranian border.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards said earlier today that it had targeted an area north of the Iraqi Kurdish capital of Irbil.
In a press statement, the ministry said as the Iraqi government renews the constitutional content of not using Iraqi territories to target neighboring countries' security, it emphasizes the significance of resorting to sustainable dialogue in order to address challenges, mainly security ones, to safeguard Iraq's sovereignty and to bolster regional security and stability.
No casualties have been reported so far due to the Iranian shelling of Iraqi territories. (end)
