Covid Cases Decline: 2550 Test Positive In J&K, 15 Succumb To Virus

Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a significant decline in daily Coronavirus cases on Monday as 2550 more people tested positive for the virus. However 15 persons succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 1576 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while the remaining 974 were registered from various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 435425.

In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 391 new cases of virus, Kupwara 225, Baramulla 210, Budgam 172, Bandipora 171, Kulgam 140, Anantnag 138, Pulwama 84, Shopian 27 and Ganderbal 18.

In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu detected a maximum of 500 new cases of Coronavirus, Udhampur 120, Kishtwar 107, Doda 90, Rajouri 53, Ramban 32, Reasi 26, Poonch 21, Samba 14 and Kathua 11.

“Moreover, 6433 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 1853from Jammu Division and4580 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.

Also, they said that 15 more people, 10 in Jammu and five in Kashmir, died of Covid-19 related complications during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll in the pandemic to 4674 in J&K —2285 in Jammu and 2389 in Kashmir.

The officials also said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed casesremains51 across J&K.
