Jewish people celebrates Hanukkah
(MENAFN) On Sunday, Jews started observing the start of Hanukkah, recognized as the Festival of Lights.
In line with the Gregorian calendar, celebrating the rededication of the second Jewish Temple in Jerusalem in the second century B.C., Hanukkah continues for eight days and nights, from the 25th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev on November-December.
On every night, a candle or oil-based light is turned on, representing the miracle of God in this world, in addition to lighting a candle on the nine-branched menorah, lamp in Hebrew, every day, Jewish people observe the holiday by reading holy scriptures.
On late Sunday, Jews are going to light 2021’s first candle and the commemoration is going to last till December 6.
