J&K Logs 72 New Covid Cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported 72 fresh cases of coronavirus while 68 more patients recovered from the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to officials, 62 new cases of Covid-19 were reported from Kashmir division while the remaining 10 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by the virus in the Union Territory to 331638.

Giving district-wise break-up of cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported the highest 32 new cases of virus, Baramulla 11, Kupwara 5, Budgam, Bandipora and Anantnag four each and Ganderbal two. The three districts of south Kashmir, including Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian reported no fresh cases on Sunday.

Similarly, the official spokesperson said that Poonch reported 3, Jammu, Kathua and Doda 2 each and Ramban one new case of coronavirus. No fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported from Udhampur, Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar and Reasi districts.

“Moreover, 68 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including11 from Jammu Division and 57 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
