(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 3 (Petra) -- The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) on Sunday dispatched a humanitarian aid convoy, in coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, to the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
A large part of the convoy, which consists of 16 trucks carrying medicines, medical, food and relief supplies, is a generous donation from Namaa Charity - affiliated to the Kuwait Social Reform Society (SRS).
Chairman of the Namaa Charity Hamad Al-Kandari, CEO Saad Al-Otaibi, and Relief Director Khaled Al-Shamri, bid farewell to the convoy, which will be handed over to official authorities and charities in the Gaza Strip.
The JHCO will also dispatch a convoy containing medical equipment and medicines to be delivered to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem.
"The Kuwaiti aid convoy came from the people of Kuwait to reach the brothers in the Gaza Strip and deliver it to those affected by the recent occupation aggression on Gaza," Al-Kandari said in a statement.
Al-Kandari commended the JHCO's for facilitating the delivery of this aid and for coordinating with the concerned authorities.
"We are working throughout the year to implement royal directives to provide our people in Palestine with emergency relief needs, and I thank the State of Kuwait, the Emir, the government and the people for their permanent support for their Palestinian brothers," JHCO's Secretary-General, Hussein Al-Shibli, said.
"We especially thank SRS's Namaa Charity for its continuous support of the brothers in Palestine, which reflects the always supportive position of the people of Kuwait and its leadership of the Palestinian brothers," Al-Shibli added.
Al-Shibli also thanked donors from the private sector for their valuable contribution to securing the needs and relief aid.
