Bahrain deplores Houthi drone attack on Saudi Arabia

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA, June 17 (KUNA) -- Bahrain on Thursday condemned the launching of a booby-trapped drone by Houthi militias towards Saudi Arabia's city of Khamis Mushait, deeming the move a "systematic terrorist act" that targets civilians.
In a press statement, Bahrain's Foreign Ministry affirmed its solidarity, and support of Saudi Arabia, and backing of the security measures Riyadh takes to maintain the safety and security of its citizens and expatriates.
The ministry lauded the vigilance of coalition forces, supporting legitimacy in Yemen, that intercepted and destroyed the drone.
The coalition declared, earlier in the day, that it intercepted and destroyed the drone, launched by the Houthis in a "deliberate and systematic manner" to target residential areas in the city. (end)
