Xinjiang's Alataw Pass sees increasing China-Europe cargo train trips
(MENAFN)The local customs stated that as of Thursday, Alataw Pass, a main rail port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, had seen 2,388 China-Europe cargo train trips crossing the inland port in 2021, it augmented 46.9 percent year on year.
China-Europe cargo trains returning via the port, transporting more than 1 million tons of supplies, made approximately 1,065 trips throughout the period, an upsurge of 67.3 percent compared to the same period of 2020.
Presently, 22 routes run via the port linking 13 countries counting Germany, Poland, Belgium and Russia. Vehicles and auto parts, household appliances and daily commodities are along with the major items exported through the port, while imports comprise cars and auto parts, cotton yarn and wood.
