Maggie Jackson currently works in the School of Social Sciences Humanities and Law, at Teesside University. Her primary interest is in Death Education in schools for young children. Her initial work was "The Teacher's handbooks of Death" JKP 2001, which was developed as a result of work with schools. She has continued with this work and has developed this by researching death in children's literature in particular how picture books address the subject of death and can be used in the Death Education with young children.

Interest In death education in schools, children and loss and death in children's literature -particularly in picture books for the very young.
