Janice Morphet

Janice has degrees in Sociology, Politics, Management and English Literature and diplomas in European Humanities, French and Town Planning. She is a Fellow of the Royal Town Planning Institute, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a member of the Political Studies Association. She has been a trustee of several bodies including the RTPI and TCPA.

Janice has had a varied professional career including time spent in local government including as a Chief Executive and in urban and rural local authorities. She was Professorial Head of the School of Planning and Landscape at the former Birmingham Polytechnic and Secretary of SERPLAN. she has acted as a senior advisor on local government at DCLG and as a consultant to the public and private sectors on governance, management, change and improvement. She has also undertaken consultancy in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as England

Janice has published widely on planning, the EU, governance, management and infrastructure in books, articles, blogs and short articles for the technical press. She is also active on twitter @janicemorphet.
