Qatar- 268 face prosecution for violation of Covid norms


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The designated authorities referred 268 people to the relevant prosecution for violating the preventive and precautionary measures enforced in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Ministry of Interior reported on Wednesday.

Among them, 225 people were referred to the prosecution for not wearing masks in places where these are mandatory, 18 for not maintaining safe physical distancing and nine for gathering in closed places.

Also, seven persons were referred to the prosecution for violating the vehicle occupancy rule (under this rule, a maximum of four persons are allowed in a vehicle, including the driver, except when they are members of the same family), six persons for violating quarantine requirements and three for not installing the Ehteraz app.

The measure is in line with the Cabinet decision, Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19.
