BRF plant cleared to export breaded chicken to Oman

São Paulo – Brazilian food company BRF's unit in Toledo, Paraná got accredited to export breaded poultry items to Oman, the Arab country in the Gulf. BRF said the accreditation process included an unprecedented audit of the plant through video conferencing. Each step of manufacturing was inspected for accordance with halal rules – which mean products are fit for consumption by Muslims.

The plant in Toledo already supplies value-added poultry items to other Arab countries, such as the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait. 'The accrediting by video conference of our Toledo plant attests to BRF's leadership in this new modality of accreditation, which came as a result of restrictions in connection with the pandemic. it confirms the quality of our product and enhances our foothold in key markets to our growth strategy,' a press release quoted BRF Institutional Relations executive manager Luiz Tavares as saying.

BRF said it has other units cleared to ship product to Oman, including in Buriti Alegre, Jataí and Rio Verde; Goiás; Capinzal, Chapecó and Dois Vizinhos, Santa Catarina; Lajeado and Serafina Corrêa, Rio Grande do Sul; Uberlândia, Minas Gerais; Nova Mutum, Mato Grosso; and Carambeí and Francisco Beltrão, Paraná.
