Kuwait lists 1,179 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwait said 1,179 people tested positive for coronavirus with two related deaths reported on Monday taking the total cases up to 192,031 as deaths rose to 1,085 respectively, according to the health ministry.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 10,791, with 157 of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that some 7,542 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,792,041, spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA.
He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (end) mrf.aa
