UN Program boosts business opportunities for Turkish citizens, Syrian refugees


(MENAFN)According to a UNDP representative, the UN Development Program (UNDP) increased business opportunities for Turkish citizens and Syrian refugees in Turkey.

Head of communications for UNDP Turkey, Faik Uyanik, refers to a project led by the EU and applied by the UNDP and the Turkish Industry and Technology Ministry that plans to increase the local economy via building industrial and innovation clusters.

Three innovation centers and three model factories turned into operational in the western province of Izmir, in southeastern Gaziantep, and the Mediterranean city of Mersin, stated the UNDP official.

The districts received a large refugee population, while the country is currently home to over 3.6 million Syrian refugees.
