Egyptian flights to Qatar to continue after re-establishment of relations
(MENAFN) On Monday, Jan. 18, after a milestone accord between Egypt and Qatar to re-establish ties, the first Egyptian flight to Qatar in over three years departed from Cairo.
EgyptAir flight number MS935 took off from Cairo International Airport to Doha, carrying 38 passengers aboard, stated the official Egyptian TV.
On Thursday, two days after Egypt's Ministry of Civil Aviation annulled a three-and-half-year airspace sanction on the Gulf state, EgyptAir, the state flagship carrier, made a decision to conduct a daily flight to Doha as of Monday.
The conclusion was made days after Egypt inked the Al-Ula declaration at the 41st Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, which concluded a boycott on Qatar by the Arab quartet, which comprises Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
