Ethiopia detains Founding TPLF member


(MENAFN)On Friday, Ethiopia detained the most senior living member of the outlawed Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF).

An official from the East African nation's military declared that six other key TPLF operatives were also detained in an operation arranged by Ethiopian forces on a hiding place in the rugged Kola Tembein area in the northnern Tigray region.

Sebhat Nega, a founding member of the TPLF, had given in the operation; Brig. Gen. Tesfaye Ayalew declared, according to the public Ethiopian News Agency.

Sebhat is to be a magnate within the TPLF and is known for having established a multibillion-dollar business empire in Ethiopia over the 27 years the group was in power.
