Ghana ready to lead AfCFTA enforcement
(MENAFN) Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo affirmed the readiness of the state to lead the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) project in its enforcement.
Talking late Sunday at an AfCFTA business forum, the president stated approaches implemented by the government in the past four years placed the nation to take on that role.
Akufo-Addo included that "The government's flagship programs such as the One District One Factory, Planting for Food and Jobs, Planting for Jobs and Export, the Strategic Industries Anchor Initiative, and the port modernization program will position Ghana as the new manufacturing hub of the region."
In addition to the new Integrated Trade Facilitation and Customs Management Systems, the President announced that these measures would turn the economy of Ghana into a pioneer in metropolitan free trade deals.
