Qatar- Kahramaa showcases expertise at GCC Power 2020


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) recently participated in the virtual edition of the GCC Power 2020 conference, organised by GCC CIGRE, with the participation of 50 experts and specialists in this field.

Head of the Evaluation and Electrical Services Department at Kahramaa, Zuhair Abdullah Al Shaiba, presented during his participation two working papers on the Corporation's experience on the partial discharge v/s noise in online GIS Partial Discharge Monitoring Systems, and on site repair of large transformers, and the most prominent challenges and solutions in these two fields.

Meanwhile, Control Systems Engineer at Kahramaa Mohammed Saleh Al Ashqar presented a working paper on enhancing transient stability of interconnected power system using a resistive superconducting fault current limiter.

The two-day conference discusses all issues of electricity, areas of joint cooperation, and visions of upgrading this sector and improving its outputs to keep pace with the rapid changes the world is witnessing in this regard.

The Conference is one of the most important specialised conferences in the region. It serves as a forum for specialists and workers in this field, and contributes to the exchange and transfer of engineering and technical expertise required to ensure the sustainability of this vital sector.
