Kuwait- Erdogan: Gas discovered in Black Sea meets Turkey's needs for years


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Oct 18 (KUNA) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday the natural gas that has been recently discovered in the Black Sea would meet the country's needs for several years.
Speaking at a conference of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Sirnak province, he affirmed that the Fatih drillship will continue explorations in the area next month.
Information received point to a lot of natural gas reserves, he noted, adding that his government will use the new discoveries for the welfare of the citizens and development of the country.
Yesterday, Erdogan announced the discovery of an additional 85 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the Black Sea. (end)
