Qatar police to start wearing new uniforms from Sunday


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Interior (MoI) unveiled new Police uniforms during a press conference held at the Police Training Institute today.
The new uniforms, which are designed taking into account modern and classical styles along with Qatari environment, will be worn from Sunday.
The press conference was attended by Brigadier Ahmed Jaber al-Hamidi, Chairman of the Committee for Renewing Police Uniforms, and Major Fahad Saeed al-Subaie, Committee Member.
The designs of the uniform are inspired by the Qatari heritage and reflect different civilizations that have succeeded in the country while adding a touch of development witnessed by the State, MoI said in a tweet.
Qatar Police Uniform Manual classifies seven dress codes such as ceremony uniforms, official uniforms, duty uniforms, field uniforms, specialized field uniforms, training uniforms, and special missions uniforms.
There are different designs for summer and winter uniforms. Special uniforms are designed for Public Transport Security, Airport Security, Traffic Patrol, and Stadium Security Department as well as for female police officers.
