Kenyan economy grows as COVID-19 restrictions relaxed broadly


(MENAFN) Kenya's external trade increased dramatically in July after different governments around the world relaxed restrictions on COVID-19, enhancing exports and imports rates.

Based on the most recent data compiled on Wednesday by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), the country which lies in the noeth Africa, witnessed a monthy rise regarding importing as it jumped to 138.8 billion shillings (about ISD 1.26 billion) in July, up from 1.1 billion dollars in June and 1 billion dollars in May.

Similarly, exports expanded to $481 million in July, against a low of $398 million in April when, according to KNBS, COVID-19 had reached several nations.


During the time the majority of Kenya's imports contained industrial equipment, fuel and polymers, machinery, and consumer products.
