Quarantine hotel packages extended till October 31: Discover Qatar

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Hotel quarantine packages for people coming from countries which are not in the low-risk list have now been extended till October 31, 2020.

Discover Qatar, the website through which the quarantine packages are booked by returning QID holders and citizens, has now options to book hotel rooms till October 31. 

Previously booking option was available only till September 15. 

Returning QID holders will have to apply for an Exceptional Entry Permit from the Qatar Portal to return to Qatar. People coming from countries which are not in the low-risk list need to book a quarantine package for 7 days in a hotel.

Around 16 hotels, with price ranging from QR 1,950 to QR 6168 (per person for 7 days), were available on the website for October 1, 2020.

'Please do not book a 'Welcome Home Package until you have read the FAQ's, you know what type of quarantine you will be required to complete, and you have approval to travel to Qatar, Discover Qatar said on their website.

Some important information from the website
- Please do not book a 'Welcome Home Package until you have read all of the information on this page, you have approval to travel to Qatar, and you know what type of quarantine you will be required to complete.
- There is a daily limit on arrivals entering Qatar and demand is extremely high.
- If you are searching for availability and no hotels are displayed, it is most likely that the daily arrivals limit has been reached. You will need to choose another date.
- Discover Qatar are not involved with the Exceptional Entry Permit process and are unable to assist with any queries about your certificate.
- For packages purchased on or after 0800 (Doha) 20 August, amendments to quarantine hotel bookings cannot be made. Once you have made your booking it is non-refundable and the dates cannot be amended.

Please therefore do not book your quarantine package until you are sure that the details are correct. 

- The only exception to this condition is if your airline cancels your flight, in which case you will be eligible to amend the dates of your booking once only. Any new quarantine package booked will be subject to availability and the daily arrival limit. Any differential on the package prices will be payable.

Unaccompanied minors
Minors under the age of 18 at the date of check-in, must be accompanied by an adult (over the age of 18 at the date of check-in) throughout the full duration of their stay in the hotel.

The parent or legal guardian will need to contact us (via telephone or email) so we can seek an advance exceptional approval (before the child arrives) to allow the parent or legal guardian to stay with the child at the quarantine hotel that is booked. This will include an approval to meet the child at the transfer area of the airport to accompany them to the hotel.

Minors will not be able to board a transfer to the hotel unless met at the airport and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Recommended Steps for QID holders
- Visit Qatar Portal to request approval for your Exceptional Entry Permit
- Once approved, check the 'Type of Quarantine stated on your certificate. If this states 'Hotel then you must book a quarantine package hotel from Discover Qatar
- Check availability for your confirmed flight.
- Book your quarantine package hotel.
- Book your flight. 
- Ensure you have copies of your Exceptional Entry Permit and your Discover Qatar Hotel Voucher, as well as your flight documents when you check-in for your flight. If you cannot produce these documents, you may not be able to board your flight. Dates for your arrival and your hotel check-in must match.
- Before making your booking, please ensure you read all of the information below to ensure that you understand the booking terms and conditions.
- Please also be aware that if you qualify to self-quarantine at home, if your preference is to book a self-funded quarantine package in a hotel, this is permitted.
