China reports decline in Pork prices

Official data showed that the prices of Pork in China report small declines in the earlier week.

In the period from the 31st of August to the 4th of September, the average pork price index in 16 provincial-level regions that are monitored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs came in at 47.16 yuan (USD6.90 U) per kg, reporting a decline of 0.7 percent compared to a week earlier.

Since the start of the year year, the government has been increasing its measures to boost supply, such as giving out frozen pork reserves and raising imports.

To deal with the effects of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the country has increased its financial support, such as subsidies and loans, for main pork-producing counties.
