Bulgaria's second quarter unemployed rate uppermost in 3 years


(MENAFN) On Friday August 14 official statistics illustrated that the unemployment rate in Bulgaria increased to 5.9 percent in the second quarter of 2020 from 4.2 percent in the same period of last year, arriving at the uppermost level since 2017.

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) stated that in a quarterly labour force survey that there were 192,200 people recorded as without a job in Bulgaria in second quarter.

The NSI stated that along with the jobless, 17.3 percent had accomplished tertiary education, 55.5 percent had totaled upper secondary education, and 27.2 percent had at the majority lower secondary education.

The NSI stated that the figure of long-term jobless persons those unemployed for longer than a year were 72,200.
