Kaaba's cloth replaced with new one Wed.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, July 29 (KUNA) -- The Kaaba cloth (Kiswa) was replaced with a new one Wednesday, in accordance with the annual tradition, which marks the Hajj season.
The Saudi News Agency stated that the General Presidency for the Holy Mosque and the Prophetآ's Mosque staff had changed the old Kaaba cloth and replaced it with a new one made of pure silk at the Kaaba Factory, in the Holy City of Makkah.
Deputy Head of the General Presidency for the Grand Mosque Affairs Ahmad Al-Mansouri, said that replacing the honorable Kaaba cloth is an annual followed procedure, affirming that the work was carried out by securing all precautionary measures and ways of protection and safety.
The Kaaba cloth is made of 670 kg of high-quality silk, 120 kg of gold threads, and 100 kg of silver threads. (end)
