Oman interdicts movement to control coronavirus outburst


(MENAFN) Oman declared on Tuesday to interdict the movement of people between the governorates for 15 days to stop social and family meetings during the forthcoming Eid al-Adha holiday, in a bid to control the outbreak of coronavirus.

The supreme committee is responsible for attacking the coronavirus pandemic stated in a report that it made the choice at its conference hosted by Minister of Interior Hamoud Al Busaidi. The committee stated that the lockdown period would last from July 25 to Aug 8.

The report stated that assemblies of all types would be banned, particularly group prayers and festivities, during the forthcoming holiday beginning at the end of the month.

The committee also declared to stop the people's movement and shut all public places and shops during that period from 7 p.m. (1500 GMT) until 6 a.m. (0200 GMT) the next morning.
