Turkey: Economists presume USD4.3b present account shortfall


(MENAFN) An Anadolu Agency survey stated on Thursday that Turkey's present account balance is expected to post a shortfall of USD4.3 billion in May.

The approximations of a group of 14 economists vary between USD3.2 billion and USD5.6 billion, with May's balance of payments statistics are to be declared by Turkey's Central Bank on Monday.

The end-2020 present account balance is estimated to record a shortfall of USD17.5 billion.

In April, Turkey's present account balance announced a shortfall of closely USD5.6 billion.

In a separate survey, Turkey's unadjusted industrial manufacture index was foreseen to have dropped 28.7 percent in May.
