Chile coronavirus cases hit over 290,000

Health authorities of Chile said on Saturday that the total number of coronavirus cases across the country stood at 291,847 as the number of deaths came in at 6,192.
Health authorities have diagnosed 3,758 more patients with coronavirus in the earlier 24 hours as 141 others have died.
According to a report released by the health ministry of the country, Antofagasta region reported the highest number of coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants, as Santiago Metropolitan region followed.
The country is now imposing a state of emergency and a curfew. The borders are still shut down as classes remain suspended, and non-essential trade is halted.
