Tunisia thank Kuwait for supporting health sector


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, July 2 (KUNA) -- Tunisian Minister of Health Abdullatif Makki commended Thursday Kuwait's support to the Tunisian health sector during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Makki made the remarks during a meeting with Kuwait's Ambassador in Tunis Ali Al-Dhefeeri and Director of the World Health Organization's (WHO) Office in Tunisia, to discuss projects and programs executed in collaboration with the State of Kuwait to fight Covid-19.
He thanked Kuwait for its solidarity with Tunisia to confront the pandemic, offering USD five million grant via the WHO Office to purchase medical equipment for hospitals.
Al-Dhefeeri said Kuwait was ready to keep supporting Tunisia's health sector.
He said Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) was financing the construction of four hospitals, renovating two hospitals and a feasibility study for a new cancer center. (end)
