Mongolia confirms zero COVID-19 cases, total at 33


(MENAFN) Mongolian National Center for Communicable Disease (NCCD) announced on Monday that zero patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus during the last 24-hour period, as all of the 341 laboratory tests conducted through this period have shown negative results for the virus.

Reporters cited Dulmaa Nyamkhuu, head of the center, as announcing in a news briefing held on Tuesday, "A total of 341 tests for COVID-19 were conducted at two laboratories of the NCCD yesterday and all results were negative."

He also stated that the result of a test conducted for a suspected infection of the novel coronavirus at a hospital in the capital city of Ulan Bator, is to be appear soon.

All of the 33 patients who have tested positive for the virus in Mongolia are believed to have transmitted the infection from the overseas, and four among them are foreigners while the remaining patients are Mongolian nationals.
