Coronavirus cases in Afghanistan hit 239

Health authorities in Afghanistan said on Thursday that 43 new coronavirus cases have been registered in the country, increasing the total number of confirmed cases in Afghanistan to 239 since the disease spread in the country in middle February.

Afghan Ministry of Public Health Spokesman, Wahidullah Mayar, said that "Forty-one people, including 17 women and 24 men, were tested positive for COVID-19 in western Herat province and two people were infected in Kabul city".

He said that "The patients have been sent for the quarantine process", adding that 184 out of the 239 cases were registered in Herat province.

All of the new cases have been infected localy as the patients had no travel history to outside countries.

The country has imposed a 21 days lockdown in most big cities in order to crub the spread of the virus.
