Artist Shalimar Sharbatly Opens Reem Hassan's "Adornment Carnival" in Jeddah Atelier of Fine Arts.
(MENAFN- Global Advertising ) Artist Shalimar Sharbatly opened the "Adornment Carnival" exhibition by the Egyptian Artist Dr. Reem Hassan, professor at the Faculty of Designs and Arts at Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh. The exhibition was hosted by Jeddah Atelier of Fine Arts for a period of two weeks, and included thirty artworks representing the last of her artistic production.
Shalimar Sharbatly praised the level of artwork presented by Dr. Reem Hassan, which combines extreme awareness and spontaneity. She stated that her works, which belong to expressive abstraction, are full of vitality and this wonderful exhibition adds to her distinguished and award-winning art.
Hesham Kandeel, the director of the Jeddah Atelier, stated: "The Artist Reem held sixteen personal exhibitions before this exhibition, and has international, local and multiple participations. She also took part in international workshops, the most important of which was a workshop in the United States of America in 2004 and obtained through her participation many prizes including the Cairo Biennial Award International, the Grand Prix at the Port Said Biennale, the Cairo Youth Salon Award in Alexandria and the Small Artwork Prize.".
Dr. Reem expressed her happiness with the exhibition in the Kingdom, especially during this time where the country is experiencing a grand cultural shift. She said that through her work at Princess Nourah University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, she was greatly affected by many of the aspects of life in the Kingdom and showcased them through her artistic perspective of an expressive abstract template.
Dr. Reem pointed to her use many fabrics in the "Adornment Carnival" that contain a number of Islamic motifs that resemble those of many places in the Kingdom in its spirit and heritage.
