UN Assembly to be joined by Somali leader


(MENAFN) Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed is heading to the United States in order to join the United Nations General Assembly which is being held in New York.

This is the first time for the Somali president to attend such an event since his presidential inauguration in 2017.

President Abdullahi Mohamed is bringing Finance Minister Abdirahman Duale Beyle to be part of his delegation alongside top government officials.

According to the presidential office, "Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed and his delegation left for the U.S. to attend United Nations General Assembly and he is accompanied by the finance minister, State House director and other senior officials."
