Jordan- Deputizing for Crown Prince, PM launches National Employment Charter


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept. 15 (Petra)-- Deputizing for His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Sunday launched the National Employment Charter, which includes a number of government enablers and mutual commitments to the charter's partners in the field of employment.
The charter, which was developed by the government in partnership with the public and private sectors, aims to empower young people and strengthen their capabilities, in line with His Majesty King Abdullah's vision to achieve a comprehensive renaissance project, find solutions to alleviate unemployment, develop human resources, and raise its efficiency technically professionally according to labor market needs.
Razzaz said the charter is a cross-governments projects and reflects the real partnership between executive and legislative authorities, security agencies, chambers of industry and trade, trade unions, and professional institutions.
He stressed that the government, in order to increase the competitiveness of the Jordanian worker, seeks to train workers on the job, adding that the government is ready to provide supervisors to this end, in order to help the employer to develop his employees' skills.
The prime minister underlined the need to benefit from Jordan's experience between 2002 and 2008, which witnessed an increase in the economic growth rate, but didn't reflect significantly on Jordanian labor.
Concluding his speech, the premier said the government will announce, during the coming period, a number of measures that will contribute significantly to stimulate the growth of the private sector, in order to create productive and decent jobs for Jordanians.
