Drugs worth USD144 million seized in Myanmar

An official from Military True News Information Team said that Myanmar authorities confiscated drugs valued more than USD144.67 million as of August 15th of the current year.


Maj-Gen Soe Naing Oo, chair of Military True News Information Team, said that the authorities seized over 171 kg of heroin, 230 kg of opium and 44 million stimulant tablets across the country in the period from January 1st to August 15th.

In the past year, drugs with a value more than USD87.33 million were confiscated in Myanmar.
