Road accident kills 8 in Ghana
(MENAFN) Local media revealed that 8 people have died as 5 more were wounded when a truck and a mini bus crashed in southern Ghana early Friday.
Witnesses claimed that a Mercedes Benz sprinter mini bus rammed into an articulated truck at Boankra, near the city of Kumasi, 280 km north of the capital.
Ashanti Regional Commander of the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) Chief Supt. Frank Abrokwah, confirmed that the driver failed to control his mini bus after an overpass attempt on another bus on the opposite side of the lane at a section of the road with speed rumps.
The police officer added: "he lost control of the steering wheel and ran into the lane of the oncoming truck and crashed into it."
