Kuwait's Alshaya Group, Hilton join forces on development deal

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 31 (KUNA) -- Global hospitality firm Hilton Worldwide and Kuwait's international franchise operator Alshaya Group have clinched a "master development agreement" to launch 70 Hampton by Hilton hotels across the Middle East and North Africa.
As per the agreement, the inaugural hotel is expected to open in Kuwait in 2021, followed by another 50 within the next eight years, Alshaya Group said in a statement on Wednesday.
"We are delighted to reach this exclusive agreement with Alshaya Group, strengthening our partnership and further expanding our global Hampton by Hilton portfolio," said Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton.
Alshaya Group's chairman Mohammed Alshaya highlighted the," strong and growing demand for high quality accommodation in the region," acknowledging the potential of the Hampton by Hilton brand.
Alshaya is a leading international franchise operator for nearly 90 of the world's most recognized retail brands. (end)
