(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Four suspects arrested over an assault on a van driver have been remanded until July 22.
The four were arrested over an assault on a van driver in Kalagedihena.
The Police had been requested to investigate the incident where security officers of a suspected VIP had assaulted the van driver.
The incident had been captured on video and was circulated on social media.
Parliamentarian Ashu Marasinghe had made a written complaint to the IGP seeking an investigation into the incident.
The Parliamentarian had urged the Police to bring to justice the culprits responsible for the assault on the van driver.
The Police later said that the Colombo Crimes Division had been instructed to investigate the incident.
