Governor Reshuffles Portfolios Among 5 Advisors
(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) SRINAGAR — Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday carried out yet another reshuffle in the portfolios of his Advisors following appointment of former IGP Farooq Ahmad Khan as the fifth Advisor recently.
An official order issues by the Government said Advisor K Vijay Kumar will continue to hold charge of the Home Department while papers related to the General Administration Department will be submitted by Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam directly to the Governor.
Newly appointed Advisor Farooq Khan has been allocated the portfolios of School Education, Technical Education, Haj and Auqaf, Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs, Culture, Agriculture/Horticulture besides Rural Development.
Apart from Home, Advisor K Vijay Kumar will hold charge of Forest, Ecology & Environment, Health & Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Hospitality & Protocol, Civil Aviation and Estates.
Advisor Khurshid Ganai will have charge of the Departments including Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs ARI & Trainings, Cooperative, Floriculture, Tourism, Election, Planning, Development & Monitoring, Labour & Employment and Higher Education.
Advisor Kewal Sharma will hold charge of Information Technology, Industries & Commerce, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Ladakh Affairs, Revenue, Disaster, Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, Transport and Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs.
Advisor Skandan Krishnan, who had served as Secretary in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for five years from 2007 to 2012 handling Kashmir, will have charge of Public Works (R & B), PHE/I & FC, Power, Development, Finance, Housing & Urban Development and Science & Technology.
Meanwhile, the government also ordered that during the period Advisor Khurshid Ganie remains away from headquarters on Haj Pilgrimage, the charge of departments allocated to him shall be held by the four other advisors.
Advisor Kumar shall have charge of ARI & Trainings and Cooperative; Advisor Skandan Krishan shall have charge of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Planning, Development & Monitorinq;
Advisor Kewal Sharma to hold charge of Floriculture and Tourism while advisor Farooq has been given assignment of Labour & Employment, Election and Higher Education.
