IndiGo launches new flight from Kolkata to Shillong


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Indian budget carrier IndiGo is launching a new daily flight from Kolkata to Shillong from July 20, the airline announced.
"We are strengthening our network from Kolkata with six new flights including a new RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme) route. Kolkata-Shillong-Kolkata, our next RCS route, will significantly increase connectivity and tourist traffic in the northeast region," William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said.
The airline will also start six new international flights connecting Delhi and Mumbai with cities in middle-eastern countries. The new flights will include daily services on Delhi-Jeddah, Mumbai-Kuwait and Mumbai-Dubai routes.
'Effective July 25 and August 5, IndiGo will launch daily non-stop flights connecting Delhi with Jeddah, and Mumbai with Kuwait,' the low-cost carrier said in a statement. 'Additionally, to cater to the increasing demand from the sector, the airline will also launch its third non-stop daily flights between Mumbai and Dubai,' it added.
William further stressed that their mission is clearly to boost economic growth in India and help promote trade, tourism and mobility. 'These are exciting times for the industry and we are optimistic of the many opportunities that will enable us to contribute towards India's socio-economic growth," he said.
Currently, IndiGo is the leading airline in India having around 50 per cent share of the domestic air passenger market.
