2 percent boost in Azerbaijani cargo transports
(MENAFN) Azerbaijan recorded a 2 percent jump in the volume of cargos transported in the country during the first five months of the year on annual basis.
Based on data the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee issued, around 90.5 million tons of cargos were transported in the country during the five-month period.
Data revealed that 62.8 percent of the overall amount accounted for products transported through vehicles, while 27.8 percent amounted for transport by pipelines, 6.5 percent by railway, 2.8 percent by ships and 0.1 percent by planes.
Meanwhile, during the period, Azerbaijan registered a 1.5 percent boost in the number of people moving via passenger transport to stand at up to 791.1 million people.
