Saudi King: Palestine cause major OIC issue, terrorism major regional threat
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MAKKAH, May 31 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz said Friday the Palestinian cause remained the major issue of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) until the Palestinian People regained their legitmate righs in line with UN resolutions and Arab peace initiative, while terrorism was a major regional threat.
Addressing the regular OIC summit, King Salman rejected any attempt undermining historical and legal status of Al-Quds.
He said efforts should be doubled to confont terrorism and terrorism financing by all means.
King Salman said "terrorism has struck our region anew," citing sabotage terrorist attacks on commercial ships, incluing two Saudi oil tankers, off the UAE.
These attacks "pose a dangerous threat to maritime navigation, regional and international security," he said.
King Salman said two Saudi oil pumping stations were attacked by drones by Iranian-backed militias, in reference to Houthis in Yemen. "We affirm that these sabotage terrorist acts do not only target the Kingdom and the Gulf region, but navigation security and energy supplies," added the Monarch.
The King said it was painful that majorty of displaced people and refugees were Muslims, and they found themselve in this situation because of conflicts and wars.
King Salman said Saudi Arabiawas committe to narrowing gaps of differences and to help people in need of keenness on stability and security of Islamic countries. (pickup previous)
