UAE supports Sudan's security and stability: Mohamed bin Zayed

ABU DHABI, 26th May, 2019 (WAM) -- The UAE will back Sudan while passing through current circumstances and transformations to achievepeaceful political transition, underscored His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, while receiving Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Burhan, Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Military Council,TMC, in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed affirmed that the UAE would stand with Sudan in its efforts to preserve its security and stability, fulfil aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people for development and progress and to realise a peaceful political transition under national reconciliation and unity.


Sheikh Mohamed said he was confident of the Sudanese people's ability and their national institutions to overcome this stage and move towards the future with a united national spirit.


Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE would spare no effort to do whatever is good for the brotherly people of Sudan.


''Dialogue is important in this critical moment Sudan is passing through. With dialogue, Sudan will reach at national reconciliation, realise its aspirations, strengthen its stability and usher into a new prosperous chapter with confident steps towards the future,'' H.H. stressed.


Highlighting the deeply-rooted, fraternal UAE-Sudan's ties, Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE is always at the forefront to provide support to the Sudanese people.


Sheikh Mohamed expressed best wishes of bright future under which Sudan will achieve development, progress and harmony.


For his part, Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Burhan expressed thanks and gratitude to the UAE for its supportive stances towards Sudan, especially its financial assistance to Sudan's economy.


He hailed ties between the peoples of the UAE and Sudan as ''deep''.

General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces;Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; and Hamad Mohammed Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Sudan; and the delegation accompanying the Sudanese leader attended the meeting.
