China: 10 die in cargo ship gas leak
(MENAFN) Local authorities declared that ten people have been killed after carbon dioxide leaked in a cargo ship at Longyan Port, Weihai city, in east China's Shandong Province Saturday.
The incident took place at about 4 p.m., when the ship belonging to the Fujian Shipping Company was being amended.
Authorities confirmed that 19 people wounded in the incident are being treated at a local hospital.
A preliminary probe revealed that carbon dioxide leaked from the fire system due to misconduct of staff members.
