The sources said that the ministry has sent a letter to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the General Administration of Customs to make a list of goods of Kuwaiti origin that can be included in the Iraqi list for potential tax exemption.

Al-Rai learned that the Chamber's response refl ected its desire and hope that Baghdad will be convinced to exempt all Kuwaiti national products from customs duties. Meanwhile, Kuwait recently urged Iraq to institute a committee for reclaiming Kuwaiti properties in Iraq, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They affirmed that Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keen on activating measures to facilitate the committee's work. They added an Iraqi delegation led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Al-Hakim showed a great deal of readiness on a recent visit to Kuwait and promised to work on having Kuwaitis retrieve their assets worth millions in Basra, Najaf, Karbala and other Iraqi cities.
