Algerians stage protests to express rejection against presidential poll date

(MENAFN) Huge numbers of protesters across Algeria went to the streets for the 13th consecutive Friday to claim stepping down of the government, as they reaffirmed rejection of the presidential polls scheduled for July 4.

The protesters called for rendering back the power to the people after a transition duration that would allow for holding fair and free poll.

Most of the political parties of opposition have claimed this process.

The demonstrations erupted on February 22 when huge numbers of Algerian people stood against President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's bid for a fifth presidential term.
